Overview

As a member of the Data and Development team within the Information Technology organization, the Senior Data Engineer is directly responsible for designing, creating, deploying, and managing data architectures,

storage, integration, and consumption of enterprise data managed by different data entities and IT systems, as well as any applications using or processing that data. This is a key role in our mission to deliver the right information at the right time to our internal business units and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develops strategies for data acquisition, archival, and recovery
  • In consultation with stakeholders, translates business needs into long-term data and architecture solutions
  • Leads the implementation of enterprise data architectures, delivering end-to-end analytics projects from data ingest through data data visualization
  • Develops, documents, and clearly communicates solutions architectures to both business and technical stakeholders at all levels, building consensus with strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Supports operational and analytics initiatives throughout NFI by partnering with various teams to define and execute data acquisition, transformation, and processing to make data accessible and actionable
  • Ensures adoption and support of data architecture priorities by collaborating with data engineers, developers, and IT managers
  • Designs and develops object and data models and data repositories structured for optimized management and high performance access
  • Defines, designs, and builds dimensional databases and data pipelines to support analytics projects
  • Reviews, tests, and troubleshoots database structures and code
  • Creates prototypes and proofs of concept for iterative development
  • Monitors and optimizes enterprise data pipelines and repositories performance
  • Provide technical guidance and support to developers, data engineers, and data administrators
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the role and determined by management.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree strongly preferred, will consider comparable work experience.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Understands and makes well-reasoned decisions and tradeoffs within their area of expertise.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of industry trends and regularly seeks external expertise to accelerate their learning.
  • Clarifies success metrics and ties efforts toward delivering business value.
  • Emerging understanding of broader organizational context and goals.
  • An understanding of impact and success metrics helps to focus their efforts, as well as those of their function.

We are excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $104,530.40 -$139,381.84. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, targeted at 3%. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location when determining a starting rate of pay.
