Job Title: Engineering Project Manager

Job Description

As an Engineering Project Manager, you will serve as a facilitator for New Product Development. You will work alongside the engineering team to plan and coordinate activities related to design, product engineering, testing, quality assurance, tooling, purchasing, and manufacturing engineering. Your role will ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities

  • Define, plan, and manage project milestone activities.
  • Coordinate a product development design or project team consisting of multiple engineering disciplines, including electrical/firmware, mechanical/optics, software, testing, quality, and manufacturing engineering.
  • Collaborate with product management/marketing and engineering team members to develop agreed-upon specifications.
  • Manage and coordinate activities across the enterprise to meet product development or project requirements.
  • Lead teams to deliver on engineering, cost, quality goals, and timing.
  • Partner with sales and product management to identify new ideas and business development opportunities.
  • Maximize the value to the enterprise, ensuring the commercial business case remains strong throughout the new product development process.

Essential Skills

  • 5 years of project management experience, including launching products in a commercial/OEM environment.
  • Working knowledge of electronics, sensors, or electromechanical parts.
  • Ability to understand technical aspects of the product and support top-level discussions.
  • Exhibit understanding of cross-functional relationships between inter-company groups and expertise required to take a product through development and on to production.
  • Ability to work in a global environment across multiple cultures.
  • Experience in estimating budget, cost, and materials for complex, capital-funded projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with different NPD processes, particularly lean and agile, is a big plus.
  • Experience with optical-mechanical/electrical products is a plus.
  • Understanding of machining, SMT, and opto-electronic assembly is a plus.
  • Knowledge or experience in APQP, DFMEA/PFMEA is a plus.
  • PMI Certification is a plus.
  • Experience in Optics, Manufacturing, or Software is advantageous.

Work Environment

This position is based in our Orlando, FL office and is not remote. The role may require up to 25% travel. You will work in a collaborative environment with access to modern technologies and equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
