Position Summary

Perform a wide variety of time-sensitive and complex duties in support of the Mayor’s Office and provide information and assistance to the public regarding city-wide issues. Answer and respond to a wide range of constituent inquiries; provide detailed, accurate, and verified information to citizens concerning a variety of City services; receive, evaluate, prioritize and relay constituent questions and requests for information or assistance. Serve as an ambassador representing the Mayor and City of Albuquerque at community events and meetings.

This is an unclassified at-will position.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

The position requires knowledge of City government operations and other government entities.

The position is required to address issues on behalf of the City of Albuquerque and the Mayor’s Office.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements

Education directly related to the minimum requirements below may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

High school diploma or GED; and

Three (3) to five years minimum of high-level customer service is preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.

Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.

Work varied hours and days as needed.

Preferred Knowledge

  • Principles and best practices of customer service
  • Business letter writing and basic report preparation techniques
  • Office procedures, methods, and computer equipment
  • Operational characteristics of applicable computer software programs
  • Best practices for providing various inbound and outbound services
  • Internet browsers, search engines, email, and instant messaging
  • MS Office computer software applications to include Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Correct usage of spelling and grammar
  • Problem-solving and de-escalation techniques
  • Principles and practices of record keeping
  • Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations
