The Marriott Boston Quincy is looking for an energetic self-starter to join our team as a Sales & Event Services Manager. and will lead our efforts in growing the Weddings and Social Events segments. This dual-role position blends proactive sales with detailed event planning and execution. The ideal candidate thrives on relationship-building, attention to detail, and delivering exceptional experiences from initial inquiry through day-of execution.

This position plays a critical role in increasing revenue from social events—such as weddings, milestone celebrations, and other private functions—by creating memorable, seamless events that lead to client referrals and repeat business.

What you will do: Ensure that your events have a seamless turnover from sales to service and back to sales by maintaining excellent communication with the client and your colleagues in the hotel, preparing event documentation, and coordinating all event details. Recognize opportunities to maximize revenue opportunities by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events. Greet your customers during the event phase and hands-off to the Event Operations team for the execution of details. Ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with the clients prior to processing the final bill. Conduct formal pre-event and post-event meetings as required to review/communicate group needs and feedback.

  • Proactively prospect, qualify, and close new business in the wedding and social events market.
  • Build strong relationships with local vendors, bridal shows, and community organizations to increase visibility and lead generation.
  • Respond to all social market inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct property tours, proposal presentations, and contract negotiations for weddings and social events.
  • Achieve or exceed individual revenue goals for the assigned market segments.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients from the time of booking through the conclusion of the event.
  • Lead detailed planning meetings, create Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), and communicate event specifications clearly to internal departments.
  • Collaborate with the culinary and banquet teams to ensure flawless execution of each event.
  • Provide on-the-floor management during events to ensure guest satisfaction and team coordination.
  • Ensure all events reflect the brand’s high standards of quality, service, and hospitality.
  • Experience in Catering sales and/or event management with a focus on weddings or social events.
  • Proven track record in achieving or exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedule.

Who you will report to: Director of Sales

What you should bring to the table: The successful candidate must have previous guest service experience. Event Management and prior hotel experience preferred. Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. Excellent guest service skills. A strong attention to detail.

When you will be working: While your schedule will be primarily during office hours, you will need to be present to meet clients during their events. Flexibility is needed as you will need to be present in the evenings and on weekends when our clients need your support and guidance.

Education

Required

High School or better.

Preferred

Some college or better in Hospitality and Resort Management.

Experience

Required

2 years:

Previous Event Management or Social Catering/ Events background

Preferred

1 year:

Previous experience with Marriott sales system preferred, but not required.
