Role Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Global Logistics, the Operations Manager, Global Logistics is responsible for executing strategic initiatives to optimize logistics and warehousing operations ensuring seamless coordination and efficient movement of goods across Flowserve global supply chain. The Operations Manager, Global Logistics will lead a team of 6+ professionals who oversee 300+ shipping locations that include manufacturing sites, Quick Response Centers, and distribution centers.

Managing an annual spend of ~$200MM, the Operations Manager, Global Logistics collaborates closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive operational excellence, minimize costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Additionally, the Operations Manager, Global Logistics must oversee a Transportation Management System (TMS) and Visibility roadmap, develop external partnerships, and close existing logistics gaps.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Optimize logistics operations, aligning with Flowserve’s overall objectives and growth strategies.
  • Effectively drive cost containment while supporting global sales, productivity, and cost controls in a dynamic and fluid market environment.
  • Implement strategic plans and initiatives to optimize logistics and 3PL/4PL operations, aligning with the company's overall objectives and growth strategies. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in transportation, logistics, and 3PL/4PL operations, leveraging insights to drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee the global movement of goods, including inbound, outbound, inter-company and third-party transportation, distribution, and warehousing activities, to meet customer demands and delivery timelines.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor and evaluate the performance of logistics and warehousing operations, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Represent the company in negotiations, industry events, and professional networks to promote the Flowserve Brand, foster partnerships, and identify opportunities for business expansion and growth.

Operations Excellence

  • Execute an integrated global logistics strategy and action plan for leveraging and optimizing 3PL, 4PL and transportation network to improve service and costs.
  • The Manager’s responsibilities include organization accountability for staffing decisions, mentoring, and developing others, coaching, resource assignments to projects, and so on to ensure success of the organization and functional area.
  • Enforce all policies and procedures pertinent to the logistics and transport processes, tools, and applications.

Sourcing Collaboration

  • Collaborate with site and/or SC functions to determine operational needs that translate into sourcing requirements.
  • Provide inputs that allow annual budgeting and/or forecasting of costs (project based or annual spend).

  • Prepare and facilitate the periodic business reviews showcasing spend, savings, lost opportunity spend and updates on site(s) performance for the region under your purview.
  • Conduct training as needed on all logistics requirements: project management, process improvement, negotiation, sourcing, metrics reporting, incoterms, “lost profit” and performance to revenue.
  • Deliver on the annual cost reduction goals, ensuring any savings are managed and reported accurately and timely.
  • Maintain current site organizational contact list, including logistics, supply chain, and finance.

Required Experience / Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • High energy, results-oriented leader with 5+ year-experience driving transformation and optimizing global networks within world-class manufacturing or technology environments.
  • S/he must demonstrate commitment to excellence, have direct and cross-functional leadership ability, and apply sharp focus on responsibility and accountability.
  • Demonstrate key functional competencies; strategy development and application, execution, planning, scheduling control, supply chain management, project management, lean management, enabling technology application, process improvement / six sigma.
  • Fluent in Big Data management and intermediate / advanced level in Business Intelligence application (Microsoft Power BI, Tableau)
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction, sense of urgency, and bias for action are unwavering requirements for this role.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
