What you’ll do as an Engineering Manager - C#/.NET at Akuna:

We’re seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a team of C# developers responsible for the firm’s core trading interface used by options market makers. The applications that you and your team build will aid traders and quant researchers in understanding market conditions, assessing risk and managing automated components in our system. Performance is key and we are always looking for more efficient and innovative ways to view the markets. This high-impact role combines technical leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and product ownership to drive the evolution of a mission-critical trading application. In this role, you will:

  • Lead and mentor a team of C# developers supporting Akuna's flagship trading GUI
  • Collaborate with traders and stakeholders to define project priorities and roadmap
  • Guide architecture, UI/UX design, and development best practices (WinForms and WPF)
  • Ensure code quality, scalability, and operational excellence
  • Translate complex trading requirements into actionable development plans

Qualities that make great candidates:

  • BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional C#/.NET development experience
  • Strong understanding of software and user interface design principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Background in finance or trading systems (options experience preferred)
  • Experience working in or with high-performance or real-time systems
  • Prior team leadership or mentoring experience is preferred
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing technical depth with product direction
  • The ability to react quickly and accurately to rapidly changing market conditions, including the ability to quickly and accurately respond and/or solve math and coding problems are essential functions of the role

In accordance with Illinois Equal Pay Act, the minimum base salary starts at $130,000. Exact compensation offered may vary based on many factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skill set. This role is also eligible for a discretionary performance bonus as part of the total compensation package, in addition to the benefits listed here: https://akunacapital.com/our-culture#benefits.
