About the job

As a Test Engineer I, you will design, develop, and implement cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment for all phases of product development and manufacturing. You will prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and equipment, and complete specifications and procedures for new products. In addition, you will plan the equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. You will report directly to the Senior Director of Manufacturing.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Develop, implement, and maintain test process instructions (TPI) for production.
  • Train production employees on test processes.
  • Troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Prepare complex test and diagnostic programs.
  • Coding on test scripts, and high-end server & network rack configurations.
  • Complete specifications and procedures for new products.
  • May be responsible for setting parameters and testing customer samples.
  • Install hardware into racks, rack cable management, and preventive maintenance.
  • Build system to drawing package including loading applications and operating system.
  • Review test equipment and capacity.
  • Experience working on complex problems where analysis or data requires evaluation and identifiable factors and interacting with leadership on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
  • Provide solutions to problems of moderate complexity that require the evaluation of readily distinguishable factors using standard techniques and methodologies.
  • Interface with peers, both internal and external to the organization, to complete various reporting and follow-up tasks.
  • Guide the completion of projects and conduct technical tasks and/or set specific technical strategy and direction for self and/or others.

Education and Work Experience

  • BS in Computer, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2+ years related experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Prior knowledge of using any ticket tracking system (i.e. Jira)
  • Prior knowledge of using PLM system (i.e. Agile) would be a benefit
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems
  • Effective in time management and delegation.
  • Skilled in debugging and root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of programming and databases (Python and MySQL are required, PHP is a plus)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean philosophies and experienced in practicing those applications.

Working Conditions

  • Fast paced work environment
  • Certain areas are considered loud work environments and will require ear protection.

Physical Demands

  • Extensive use of computer equipment, and frequent telephone activity.
  • Periods of extended sitting, walking, and standing are required.
  • Activities such as bending and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Employee must be physically capable of completing and satisfying all training requirements as stipulated by Company policy.

Annual salary range

$65,000 - $72,000 USD DOE
