Secondment/Contract: Up to 12 months

Do you want to influence the Inventory Management transformation? Reporting to the Director/Senior Manager, Inventory Flow, you will lead the daily replenishment activities across the LCBO business including the third (3rd) Party Logistics (3PL) facility. You will be responsible for inventory analysis, forecast and replenishment planning, review order quantities that are placed; this will require close collaboration with the Senior Managers and Order Specialist Monitoring performance and reviewing/creating processes to find opportunities to reduce cost or introduce continuous improvement will be important in this role. You will also work with Demand Planning and Logistic teams to ensure that we are using the OTB to guide high forecast accuracy, in-stocks, and warehouse fill rates.

About the Role

  • Deliver a great wholesale customer experience by ensuring service level commitments for fill rates are achieved.
  • Ensure daily product replenishment purchases are appropriate and managed within the Financial Inventory plans and Open- to-Buy parameters.
  • Collaborate with both internal/external parties related to planning and replenishment.
  • Analyze DCM system forecasts and parameters to ensure efficient suggested order quantities related to service level, safety stock, promotions, and other system business rules.
  • Oversee inventory performance (inventory turns, day’s supply, service levels, financial tracing, and other important performance targets), including through peak selling periods; anticipate inventory problems and shortages.
  • Handle the inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipments, and stock levels.
  • Identify slow moving and aged inventory and manage clearance and closeout process for discontinued items.
  • Work with multiple internal (Demand Planning, Merchandising, Traffic and Customs, Quality Assurance) and external partners (3PL facility operator, vendors/agents) to ensure efficient, and optimised inventory management throughout the entire supply chain.
  • Analyse current processes and identify and report on trends and business issues that can either improve or compromise the LCBO's ability to achieve its strategic goals.
  • Runs ad hoc reporting, ongoing monitoring of inventory performance, promotional performance, or vendor performance
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and strengths and weaknesses of current processes or practices.

About You

  • Inventory management, distribution and operation skills and knowledge acquired through post-secondary education in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.
  • Progressive inventory management experience, with emphasis on inventory management/planning or purchasing is required.
  • Well-developed analytical, combined with communication are important to this position.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Outstanding business knowledge (business analysis, inventory management and control, and financial and operational management).
  • Experience in Merchandise Financial Planning will be an asset.
  • Experience using inventory software applications, and skills vital to compile reports and prepare correspondence analytics utilizing MS Office.
  • Balance high-volume workload.
  • Work collaboratively, as part of a team.
  • Experience within a grocery or wholesaling environment and experience in the Alcoholic Beverage or Consumer Package Goods industry is an asset.
