Coordinator for Continuing Education

As part of the Conferences and Continuing Education team, you will support the awards program, professional development offerings, and conferences facilitated by the National Resource Center for the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition. This coordinator will work under general supervision as a liaison between entities conducting business with the center throughout the lifecycle of awards, workshops, and conferences.

Primary Duties:

  • Support the planning and execution of conferences, workshops, and other events, which includes preparing print and digital material, soliciting reviewers, providing on-site support, and coordinating with facilitators.
  • Complete tasks associated with the National Recognition Programs sponsored by the National Resource Center.
  • Provide support to business functions, which may include maintaining conference databases, monitoring registrations, managing travel, reconciling accounts, and responding to email inquiries.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

2-3 years working in a fast-paced environment, previous experience in event management

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, both in-person and virtually. Ability to write, edit, plan, compose, and produce a high volume of event materials and email communications. Ability to coordinate and advance multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to prepare reports and communicate findings. Ability to use technology, problem solve, utilize conscious decision making, and communicate outcomes. Organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills.

This includes preparing the nomination platform, coordinating marketing plans; launching the campaign, managing timelines; managing communications across various stakeholders; assisting with planning the awards ceremony; ordering awards, and other logistical details.
