How You’ll Contribute:
As the Director of Agency Partnerships & Distribution Strategy, you will lead the strategic expansion of ALGA’s agency distribution network by recruiting and integrating top-performing agencies, strengthening strategic partnerships, and developing scalable distribution initiatives. This leadership role collaborates with cross-functional teams to accelerate productivity, drive revenue growth, and foster inclusive engagement with a diverse advisor and producer base. You will manage a team of internal sales and support professionals to drive excellence across onboarding, compensation models, and performance tracking.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Sales and Distribution professionals, including Internal Wholesalers and Sales Desk teams
- Develop and implement agency recruitment, onboarding, and integration strategies
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with agency principals, IMO leaders, and key distribution partners
- Drive compensation strategy, including incentive programs and partner remuneration
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Product Development, and Sales to support agency engagement
- Use data analytics to monitor agency performance and refine distribution strategies
- Represent ALGA at industry conferences and events as a brand ambassador
- Analyze competitive landscape and identify opportunities for strategic enhancements
- Champion diversity and inclusion by supporting outreach to underrepresented producer communities
- Travel regularly to engage partners and agencies and ensure market alignment
What You’ll Bring:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in life and annuity sales, wholesaling, or distribution
- At least 5 years of leadership or management experience in an insurance sales environment
- Preferred: Experience in IMO/BGA partnerships, legacy carrier producer relationships, and CRM tools like Zinnia or iPipeline
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven expertise in agency recruitment, onboarding, and partnership development
- Strong strategic planning and negotiation skills
- Deep understanding of life insurance and annuity market trends and distribution structures
- Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and presentation abilities
- Proficient in data analysis and CRM management
- Comfortable navigating regulatory and compliance standards in independent agency channels
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and foster inclusive, growth-oriented environments
- Active Life, Accident & Health Insurance license (or ability to obtain within 120 days)
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent sitting, walking, and driving; occasional standing and lifting of up to 20 lbs
- Fine hand manipulation and visual/hearing abilities required for presentations and meetings
- Ability to travel frequently (more than 20% of the time)
