Job Details

The National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) is a fast-growing area within WSU, known globally for our expertise in the most critical areas of aerospace research and development. The Information and Technology Team is looking for someone to perform administrative functions for SaaS and on-site enterprise software systems. If you have knowledge of database design and data storage, that is a plus as well!

Job Summary

Performs operations and maintenance tasks for current and future SaaS and locally hosted solutions, which includes, collaborating in support of implementation and integration of current and future systems and services; working with vendors in support of hosted solutions, and working with clients in support of their use of our services; migrating services and diagnosing issues; monitoring systems and services; and responding to alerts and performing root cause analysis.

Essential Functions

Performs administrative functions for both SaaS and on-site enterprise software systems such as configuration, monitoring, user provisioning and upgrade testing. Serves as the subject matter expert on assigned SaaS and on-site enterprise applications by understanding the software's available functions and processes and making recommendations on implementation of new features. Works closely with other teams to develop, test and support data integrations to and from SaaS systems. Leads and coordinates upgrade planning, testing and deployment for assigned applications. Monitors, troubleshoots, and serves as first level support for assigned Saas and on-site enterprise applications.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent

Six (6) years of experience in operations and maintenance tasks with SaaS. Every 30 hours of college coursework can be substituted for one (1) year of experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills including the ability to explain complex technical concepts in non-technical terms.

Must show initiative to help research and troubleshoot complex technical issues with other team members.

Ability to gain knowledge of relational database design and data storage.

Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Ability to learn new systems and processes as needed.

Physical Requirements

Ability to remain in a stationary position.

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.

Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
