Position Summary

As a Building Automation System Technician, you will perform service, support, and installation of automation systems.

Job Duties

  • Program databases to meet specified sequences of operation and equipment manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Perform calibration and check-out of control systems and ensure that specified sequence of operations and commissioning obligations are met.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing, and repairing building automation systems at customer’s location.
  • Perform work at both new construction and existing building retrofit site work environments
  • Provide information to update drawings and keep records of equipment (submit all redlined drafting to application engineers).
  • Install DDC controllers, sensors, and accessories for building automation systems.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and practical experience troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating DDC systems. Carrier or Automated Logic Preferred.
  • Practical experience interfacing and integrating DDC systems with commercial buildings electrical and mechanical equipment systems.
  • Strong knowledge and practical use of utilizing a digital multi-meter and related controls calibration and testing tools, as they pertain to servicing DDC systems and their end devices.
  • BACnet, Lon, and Modbus systems experience is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft, Building Automation software.
  • Carrier i-Vu experience a plus.
  • Self-starter and able to work both independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer relations skills.
  • Strong work ethic and good attitude.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Varied shift hours and out of town travel required as needed.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to pass full background screening and drug screening
  • Ability to pass MVR check
  • Ability to travel, as needed, for projects or training
