The Beaumont District is looking for a Construction Recordkeeper I, II, or III in the Beaumont Area Office. Are you self-motivated, love attneiton to detail and like the challenge of handling multiple projects?

Come join our team as a Construction Recordkeeper! Our Construction Recordkeeper team is responsible for working alongside our TxDOT project managers reviewing monthly measurements and payments, contract related documents and contract compliance.

Salary Range:

Consttruction Recordkeeper I (A13): $35,439 - $52,388/yearly

Construction Recordkeeper II (A15): $38,976 - $58,045/yearly

Construction Recordkeeper III (A17): $42,976 - $64,469/ yearly

Position Description

Maintains construction project records and processes related paperwork; reviews and modifies contract documents to reflect changes to original agreement; monitors records to verify compliance with state and federal laws and determines payments due contractor for work completed. Work requires contact with contractors. Employees at this level perform assignments following specific instructions and are subject to frequent review by the immediate supervisor.

Essential Duties:

Construction Recordkeeper I-II:

  • Maintains liaison with construction inspectors and contractor's staff to ensure project records accurately reflect changes and agreements
  • May attend pre-construction meetings to instruct contractor's bookkeeper on record-keeping procedures
  • Monitors contractor's compliance with federald requirements realted to Equal Employment Opportunity and wages
  • Monitiors on-the-job training program and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and Small Business Enterprise programs; submits requied monthly reports
  • Prepares and submits monthly and final estimates; checks calculations against work log and estimate form to verify work is completed before payment is made
  • Prepares and types correspondence, reports, supporting documents and files.
  • Processes change orders, supplemental agreements, and extra work orders
  • Maintains filing structure for each construction project within assigned area
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned

Construction Recoedkeeper III:

  • May serve as a lead worker or project leader

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Construction Recordkeeper I-III: High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.

Experience:

Construction Recordkeeper I: None

Construction Recordkeeper II: 1 YEAR Record-keeping, bookkeeping, or other related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part time equivalent).

Construction Recordkeeper III: 2 YEARS Record-keeping, bookkeeping, or other related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part time equivalent).

Licenses and Certifications: Construction Recordkeeper I-III: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Construction Recordkeeper I:

  • Reading and interpreting applicable plans, schematics, blueprints and maps
  • Using standard office equipment
  • Preparing and maintaining confidential and sesitive records, files, and reports
  • Communicating technical information effectively
  • Using computers, applicable programs, applications and systems
  • Maintaining a safe and effective working realtionship with others

Construction Recordkeeper II:

  • Applicable testing methods, processes, and procedures
  • Governmental policies and procedures

  • Reading and interpreting applicable plans, schematins, blueprints and maps
  • Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files, and reports

Construction Recordkeeper III:

  • Leading, assigning, reviewing, and monitoring the work of others

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
  • Repetitive motion- substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Close visual acuity- work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
