Job Description

Join our team as an Assembler I, where you will play a crucial role in assembling various components, including sub-assemblies, manual, and electrical components. You will work under general supervision, adhering to safety, quality, and quantity standards, and follow directions and blueprints to ensure products meet specifications. This position offers an opportunity to work on the 2nd shift in Portage, MI.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble components and sub-assemblies according to blueprints and instructions.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and quantity standards.
  • Communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Participate in cross-training and teamwork activities.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and ergonomic practices.
  • Identify and report any safety or quality issues.
  • Lift and carry components weighing 10-50 lbs frequently, and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
  • Perform tasks involving prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, sitting, standing, or crawling.
  • Utilize hand and power tools efficiently.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read and understand procedures, safety sheets, and instructions in English.
  • Capability to follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively in English.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Motivation to learn and progress in skills, including cross-training.
  • Physical stamina for repetitive tasks and ability to handle physical demands.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with assembly work, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift and meet overtime requirements, including weekends.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
