Job Description

Join our team as a cook, where you'll have the opportunity to flex your culinary skills and grow within the hospital environment. This role requires flexibility with shifts ideally from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm, including weekends, but we can accommodate specific availability. Your primary responsibility will be to perform various food service production activities, ensuring all dietary requirements are met while preparing delicious meals for patient services, retail, and catering operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of hot and cold foods by cutting, chopping, slicing, dicing, pureeing, and marinating ingredients.
• Wash, peel, cut, and seed vegetables and fruits, and measure ingredients accurately.
• Follow standardized recipes and use cooking techniques such as sautéing, broiling, braising, blanching, baking, grilling, frying, and steaming.
• Properly chill and store foods, adhering to food safety guidelines and labeling procedures.
• Ensure compliance with special dietary requirements, including nutritional restrictions, allergens, and modified textures.
• Clean kitchen equipment, appliances, and work areas to maintain high sanitation standards.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in food service, food preparation, and cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion guidelines.
• Experience in cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and workstations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, providing friendly and professional interactions.
• Ability to assemble meals according to menu and dietary orders.
• Skill in organizing work areas and supplies before, during, and after shifts.
• Experience in a hospital or similar environment is a plus.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
