Amazon’s Selection Monitoring builds software to improve customer experience by : (1) Growing number of customer relevant brands and products on Amazon, and (2) enriching product and brand information in Amazon catalog. We build state-of-the-art information retrieval infrastructure, extracting structured-data from unstructured-content, automatic item classification, storage systems to hold the massive catalog and distributed systems of cloud-scale. We apply parallel processing, Generative AI solutions, and machine learning algorithms to evaluate millions of products every day and to identify and prioritize new additions to Amazon’s selection efficiently. The mission of Selection Monitoring (SM) team is to collect all publicly available facts and generate insights about brands and products. SM is a global team with the charter to surface these facts and insights to WW Amazon teams where we have an e-commerce business. SM’s primary objective is to improve Amazon selection and customer experience by discovering, validating, prioritizing off-Amazon brands and selection.
