The Whitespace Analytics team at Ford is at the forefront of shaping the future of automotive. We're focused on understanding emerging product demand as we plan for an electrified future and a new generation of vehicles. Our work is dynamic and requires creative problem-solving, developing novel methodologies, and leveraging diverse data sources. We are seeking a highly resourceful and innovative analyst to join our team. You will be tackling challenging, often undefined business problems, contributing directly to Ford's strategic planning. Although the team is normally onsite one day a week, onsite work of up to three days per week may be required.

What you'll do

• Forecast US Industry electric vehicle demand and develop pricing and demand assumptions for future Portfolio vehicles
• Dimension sales volume expectations for FMC’s planned presence in key retail segments
• Provide vehicle pricing perspective on newly planned Whitespace introductions including new powertrains utilizing and expanding upon current methodologies
• Utilize advanced modeling and simulation techniques to generate modeling scenarios to support strategic business decisions, optimizing the performance of Ford Business Units
• Apply attribution modeling, statistics, optimization, operation research and other advanced techniques to solve real-world business problems
• Develop analytical methodologies and specify data requirements by translating business phenomena into appropriate mathematical/regression equations
• Use ‘outside the box’ thinking and modeling to answer difficult questions in an environment with little information and resources

You'll have...

• Bachelor's degree in quantitative field i.e. Statistics / Data Analytics / Mathematics / Economics / Physics or related field or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
• 1 + years of work experience that includes statistical analysis, data visualization (ex: QlikSense, Tableau, Power BI), data modeling, or optimization. (Internship experience may be acceptable)
• 1+ years of experience using statistical software (R/Python, etc.), query languages or software, such as Big Query, SQL, Hadoop/Hive, Alteryx along with Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and PowerPoint. (Internship experience may be acceptable)

Even better, you may have...

• Master's or Ph.D. in quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Data Analysism Applied Mathematics, Physics or related field
• Ability to work with the customer to determine the underlying business question / need
• Be able to quickly convert a real business question into a solvable modeling problem, sort out relevant information, and judge the solution against business reality
• Apply business acumen to the problem and solution vs. a solely data-based approach
• Familiarity with Ford’s vehicles, attention to detail, time management, willingness to learn, ability to handle multiple projects at a time, excellent communication and data presentation skills
• Automotive experience
• The ability of carrying out independent technical work in close collaboration with business-partners.
• Ability to enable Ford to keep competitive advantage in terms of state-of-the-art business modeling and advanced analytical capabilities
