Position Summary: The Plumbing and Electrical Tester is required to evaluate and ensure our homes plumbing and Electric systems quality by conducting comprehensive inspections. This position involves performing inspections, facilitating effective communication, assisting and helping resolve source of defects. Additionally, the plumbing tester is accountable for evaluating house plumbing and electric systems, including but not limited to, NEC Standards, HUD code compliance, and Clayton QBuilt construction standards.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Conduct plumbing tests of our homes to the required standards (evaluate water and gas supply lines, drain lines for potential leaks).
  • Complete plumbing installation (e.g.: faucets, water heater)
  • Conduct Electric Tests of our homes to the required standards. (E.g.: continuity, polarity, evaluate for shorts, electric features functionality, fans, etc..)
  • Document findings during the inspection using available technology.
  • Communicate to management when opportunities are identified and help resolve the opportunity.
  • Communicate and work closely with production leadership and team members during the inspections.
  • Other duties as assigned by the QA Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 Months experience in manufactured housing industry is preferred.
  • Experience with plumbing preferred.
  • Demonstrated positive influence and optimistic demeanor
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, IPADs
  • Continuous willingness to learn and grow
  • Sound judgement in all interactions at all levels within the facility
  • Strong knowledge of quality standards and expectations including eBuilt, QBuilt standards, DAPIA and CCI’s.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read floor plans and production order to ensure that operations meet production standards.
  • Strong leadership skills and teamwork mentality

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and occasionally use ladders / steps to enter and exit homes.
  • Must be able to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as telephone, calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc.
  • Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
  • Works in an environment that includes exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Work primarily involves sitting / standing, may involve a moderate amount of bending / stretching.
