Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other technical related fields.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in C/C++, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience or interest in operating systems and other low level system software.
  • Experience in productizing and shipping consumer-facing products.
  • Experience in either linux development, power management, performance tuning, device driver/HAL development or other low level system software, or Android system.
  • Ability to work independently and self-direct tasks across geographical locations.

Fuchsia is a modern, open source operating system that is simple, secure, updatable, and performant. It’s a general purpose OS, designed to power an ecosystem of hardware and software, and provides core operating system functions like system resource management, a driver framework, and software abstractions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain the Fuchsia system software stack.
  • Debug and resolve software integration issues across Fuchsia and Android.
  • Optimize, measure, track and improve software quality, including system stability, power consumption, and system performance.
  • Work cross-organizationally and cross-functionally with Technical Leads, Technical Program Managers, Product/Project Managers to deliver impact.
  • Develop and implement metrics to monitor Fuchsia device performance, validate implementations, and proactively identify user experience and performance-impacting issues.
