Software Engineering Manager, Distributed System Engineering

Meet the Team:

The Cisco Distributed System Engineering team build the largest networks in the world. Within these networks, we connect and manage millions of end-points to support our customers. Our Distributed Embedded Data Path Forwarding team are looking for a Software Engineering manager to join our diverse team to work on developing features for routers that accelerate our customers’ success!

Your Impact:

• Grow and mentor software engineers and technical leaders
• Track and deliver projects on time, oversee and collaborate for the success of team’s charter
• Review all work produced by the team, Deliver continuous feedback and performance review of engineers
• Being a role model of Cisco culture

Minimum Qualifications:

• 9+ years of experience in Software Engineering and 3+ years of experience in management
• Hands-on experience building and deploying software on embedded systems/routers
• Experience leading/managing a strong technical team to drive the features/products with a focus on quality
• Good interpersonal skills and cross collaboration
• Knowledge of C/C++, embedded Linux, OS, Routing protocols and the networking stack

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience of interacting and working with large team across geographies
• Experience managing independent, strong, and diverse teams
• Strong understanding of customer value
