Job Summary:
The Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records through scheduled and unscheduled cycle counts. This role ensures the integrity of inventory data, supports warehouse operations, and identifies discrepancies for resolution. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, familiarity with warehouse operations, and experience using inventory management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts of inventory in accordance with company policies.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, working closely with inventory control and warehouse teams.
- Accurately record inventory counts in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP system.
- Assist in root cause analysis for inventory issues and suggest process improvements.
- Maintain clear and organized records of cycle counts, adjustments, and findings.
- Ensure inventory is stored in the correct locations and properly labeled.
- Support inventory audits and physical counts as needed.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while working in the warehouse.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced warehouse setting
- May involve exposure to varying temperatures depending on the facility
- PPE may be required (e.g., safety vests, gloves)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform job duties effectively.
- Preferred 3+ months of experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or a similar field.
- Ability to use hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools and forklifts.
- Ability to become certified as a Powered Industrial Equipment (PIT) operator and complete in-house machinery certifications.
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Initiative-taking with a strong focus on accuracy, deadlines, and reporting.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
- Able to read, write, and understand simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
