Position Description:

CGI is seeking an experienced Backend Software Developer with expertise in Generative AI to join our rapidly growing technology practice. You will actively contribute to the design and development of next-generation intelligent systems, integrating advanced language models across both on-premises and cloud-based environments, within high-impact, large-scale projects.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Design and develop distributed backend systems integrating Generative AI and data science components.
• Define the technical architecture of solutions leveraging large language models (LLMs).
• Industrialize machine learning and GenAI prototypes into robust, scalable, and secure backend services.
• Create and optimize data pipelines feeding AI models.
• Ensure quality, performance, and resilience of delivered solutions.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists and DevOps teams to operationalize models.
• Develop and maintain robust APIs (REST/GraphQL) for integrating GenAI services.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Reside in the province of Quebec.
• Be already legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Be comfortable speaking both French and English.
• 5+ years of experience in backend development, microservices architecture, and data processing.
• Proficient in Python and C#.
• Strong experience with AWS (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, RDS).
• Expertise in CI/CD, monitoring, and securing cloud infrastructures.
• Integration of LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, etc.)
• Mastery of prompt engineering and instruction chaining.
• Experience designing RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) solutions.
• Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks.
• Implementation of control and security mechanisms (guardrails) for AI models.
• Efficient token management, monitoring, and LLM cost optimization.

Assets:

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with large-scale deployment of AI models (MLOps, model serving).
• Knowledge of real-time data processing systems.
• Advanced skills in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and machine learning.
