Job Description

Mail Systems Operator -

  • Schedule: 6:00 am - 6:00 pm Rotating weekly schedule, includes weekends
  • Hourly Pay Rate: $17.00
  • Paid Break and Lunch

The Mail Systems Operator is responsible for the daily processing of outgoing mail at the work location.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produces daily manifests and completes all necessary forms and paperwork. Processes International mail and completes all necessary paperwork associated with International mail.
  • Load postal trucks for distribution.
  • Orders mailroom supplies and equipment for various methods of delivery. Administers delivery surveys. Communicates effectively in verbal and written format with outside organizations such as UPS, USPS, SmartMail, both by telephone and in person. Runs Mail reports – Standard A and Manifest for Kewill, MMS, EDS, UPS, and/or Clippership.
  • Audits the bag and scale for accuracy. Works with management to identify and resolve delay in delivery issues.
  • Retrieves and sorts outgoing parcels from boxing stations.
  • Creates BOL’s for all LTL and FTL shipments, and schedules pick-up requests.
  • Prepares paperwork and shipments for all DHL, Pitney Bowes, and mailstream projects.
  • Ships any other miscellaneous shipments via FedEx, USPS, Stamps.com.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • In lieu of the above education requirements, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

  • Credentials requirements: Forklift Training
  • Checking
  • Speed - Average
  • Accuracy - Above Average
  • Numerical skills - Above Average
  • Reading comprehension
  • Computer skills - Above Average

COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS

Establish and build a strong relationship with various carriers to facilitate the handling of issues (pickups/problems/issues). Position constantly interacts with others from work area, sharing data and/or information. Communication is with other workers, plant manager, other shift leaders. Most communication is verbal or via email.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Required to work and stand for 8 hour shifts. *Print manufacturing environment.
