An exciting opportunity has become available to join Boeing Poland as a Senior DevOps Specialist based in Gdansk, Poland for the Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) organization.

Position overview:

We are a product led analytics group within BDS transforming the way business is run using artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI&ML). We are a dynamic team of data scientists, data engineers, and software developers solving many challenges and puzzles of our rapidly evolving technical stack.

We’re seeking a Senior DevOps who is ready to work with new technologies and architectures in a forward-thinking group that’s always pushing boundaries. This person will have complete, end-to-end responsibilities of AI&ML-derived products and features. The ideal candidate has experience building products across the stack and a firm understanding of web frameworks, APIs, databases, and multiple back-end languages. The Senior DevOps will join a small team that uses new technologies, tools, and capabilities to solve challenges for both the front-end and back-end architecture, ultimately delivering great products for our users.

As a Senior DevOps, the job holder will join the Data Analytics Digital Integration Poland Team consisting of highly skilled, high performing team members supporting multiple product lines across Boeing.

Hiring details:

  • This requisition is for a locally hired position in Poland. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll
  • This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform 2 days per week onsite at office in Gdansk. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future

Position responsibilities

  • Automate Infrastructure Provisioning: Use Terraform and AWS CloudFormation to provision infrastructure, including EC2, RDS, and Lambda functions
  • CI/CD Pipeline Setup & Improvement: Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines in GitLab for efficient application deployment and code integration.
  • Developer Portal Setup: Create and maintain a developer portal to provide resources for developers, including documentation, deployment status, and system health
  • RDBMS Deployment & Management: Automate the deployment of RDBMS (e.g., Amazon RDS, Aurora) and integrate it into the data pipeline for efficient management of transactional and analytical data
  • Raw and Enriched Data Model Automation: Automate the creation, transformation, and integration of raw and enriched data models to the data lakehouse
  • Monitoring & Logging: Implement AWS CloudWatch for real-time monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure the health and performance of all deployed systems
  • Pipeline Optimization: Continuously improve the deployment pipelines for faster, more reliable, and secure deliveries

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 7+ years of professional experience
  • Existing rights to work in Poland
  • English proficiency
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud environments, and knowledge of FedRAMP, NIST, and AWS security best practices
  • Hands-on experience in deploying and managing RDBMS solutions (e.g., RDS, Aurora), database migration strategies, and integration with cloud-based data lakes
  • Proven experience with GitLab CI for building, testing, and deploying applications, including Docker container integration and cloud deployment

Preferred qualifications

  • Expertise in Terraform or AWS CloudFormation for provisioning cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with AWS CloudWatch for monitoring, logging, and setting up alerts for performance and security
  • Experience automating ETL pipelines using AWS Glue, Step Functions, and other AWS data services
  • Deep understanding of IAM, KMS, encryption, and compliance with AWS GovCloud security standards

Typical Education & Experience:

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).
