Job Title: 5 Axis CNC Machinist/Operator

Job Description

Join our team as a 5 Axis CNC Machinist/Operator where you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of 5 & 3 axis machines to produce precision parts. This role requires working on either the 2nd or 3rd shift, ensuring high-quality production in our advanced technology-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and portable CMM or FARO.
• Machine parts to specifications using 5 & 3 axis machines.
• Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools for precision machining operations.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines per set-up documentation.
• Measure, examine, or test completed parts to check for defects and ensure conformance using precision instruments.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
• Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
• Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine product conformance.
• Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
• Diagnose machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
• Collaborate with engineering, supervisory, or inspection personnel to verify technical information.
• Fit and assemble fixtures and cutters to make or repair products.
• Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
• Separate scrap waste and related materials for reuse, recycling, or disposal.
• Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes for improved efficiency or adaptability per the Kaizen process.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of setup and operating a 5 axis machine (Haas, DMG, Makino or Mazak).
• Set-up experience is required.
• Ability to inspect and deburr own parts off the machine.
• Willingness to work an off shift (2nd or 3rd).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience running 3, 4, and 5 axis numerical control machines preferred.
• Experience with Mazak, Haas, Fanuc, and Siemens controls.
• Knowledge of tools like calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.

All new hires undergo 6-8 weeks of training on the first shift to learn our processes. This is a Permanent position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $58240.00/yr.
