Description:

The Medical Coding and Audit Manager provides the management for the Trinity Health Of New England (THONE) Audit Department focusing on coding, audit and compliance. Responsible for implementing coding initiatives to achieve the outcomes associated with Trinity Health, THONE, Governmental and Payer rules and guidelines. The Manager, PNO Audit ensures that all providers meet regulatory compliance and provides oversight of auditing for the New England Region

What you will do:

  • Provides technical expertise and recommendations to Audit team and Health Ministries, to resolve coding and chart documentation problems impacting the accuracy and consistency of coded data.
  • Provides staff with coding expertise, training and resources on coding procedures and department workflows.
  • Assists Audit Team with providing feedback and training to providers regarding coding issues found during audits or charge review.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: A credentialed professional coder. Bachelor's Degree in a health care related field preferred.
  • Experience: 5 – 7 years of professional coding and auditing. 5 years management experience required.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of billing, reimbursement, CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM coding; strong written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical/critical thinking skills; detail oriented; proficiency with computers required.
  • Certification: CPC and CPMA required. CRC preferred.
  • Job Skills: Command and comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of payer requirements, medical policies and compliance regulations.
