Job Description

As a Staff Engineer SoC Physical Implementation, you will own the Physical Design work packages: Synthesis, Floor-planning, Placement, CTS, Routing, Sign-Off, including planning, effort estimation and implementation.

In your new role you will:

• Be responsible for the quality of the physical design and the fulfillment of the required KPIs
• Be a key contributor to reach the timing closure and signoff criteria as planned
• Be the interface with top level, digital and analog design teams both local and from other sites to ensure a smooth integration at top
• Implement, update and improve the scripts used in the Physical Design flow
• Generate Design Documentation Reports and participate to Design Reviews
• Drive and/or support risk assessment, risk management and Design/Product FMEAs

Your Profile

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

• A Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent degree with specific knowledge of microelectronic devices and related digital circuit design
• At least 3 years of experience in implementing complex SoC designs from RTL to GDS, preferred in an UNIX environment
• Solid Experience of the RTL to GDS flow: synthesis, P&R, STA and signoff checks in sub-micron technologies using either the Synopsys or Cadence toolchain
• Previous experience with physical design work-packages planning (including effort estimation) and risk management
• Very good scripting knowledge using TCL, Python and/or Perl
• Skills acquired by previous usage of various CAD tools like Innovus or Genus
• DFT experience would be a plus
• Prominent problem solving and analytical skills
• Fluency in English (mandatory), Italian is appreciated, German would be a plus
