Customer Service Specialist Summary:

A global leader in technology, systems and solutions to the marine industry is seeking a highly qualified Customer Service Specialist to join their team. This is a vital position that will act as a key contact and liaison for customers. The Customer Service Specialist will interact with customers on an ongoing basis by responsible for entering orders, handling customer requests, and providing information such as pricing, scheduling, and shipment and delivery data in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.

Customer Service Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Process customer orders with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Release all orders timely and properly with all required details
  • Maintain and update customer portals/dashboards with order status
  • Track order fulfillment progress and proactively communicate exceptions to customer and management
  • Review department reporting to ensure orders are being shipped and billed in a timely manner
  • Answers customer service phone calls, addresses all inquiries
  • Provide product and pricing availability to customers
  • Ability to work and achieve established results with limited supervision
  • Resolve customer complaints, while continually developing relationships and rapport
  • Collaborate with internal functional areas on order confirmation, expedites, escalations and other issues, ensuring proactive, consistent, and timely communication to the customer
  • Participate and/or lead scheduled customer order status updates as required
  • Identifies solutions to increase efficiencies within departmental functions
  • Other key responsibilities and tasks as assigned by Supervisor

Schedule & Pay:

  • 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed
  • $19-$20/HR

Customer Service Specialist Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of customer service experience and or account management preferred
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of ERP experience is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving, and critical thinking
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent customer service and relationship building skills
  • Detail oriented, well organized, and ability to multi-task in a results-oriented business environment
  • Must be service oriented with the ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Action-oriented and proactive, continually displaying a sense of urgency
