Description
We are seeking a driven, professional, and detail-oriented Business Development Associate to join our growing team. This role will directly support the Sr. Director of Business Development in expanding our footprint across the Washington, DC metropolitan area and beyond. Our company provides commercial parking management, staffed security, and porter/janitorial services to mixed-use, retail, office, and residential developments.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, organized, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment. This individual will play a critical role in preparing and presenting custom proposals, analyzing market trends, and engaging prospective clients to drive new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Proposal Development:
- Create customized sales proposals for parking, security, and janitorial services
- Prepare comprehensive revenue and expense budgets to support each proposal
- Tailor proposal narratives and presentations to reflect each client's needs and operational context
- Client Engagement & Relationship Building:
- Initiate and manage contact with prospective clients through calls, emails, and meetings
- Coordinate and participate in sales meetings and site walks with property owners, managers, and executives
- Maintain and build long-term relationships with current and potential clients
- Presentation & Document Preparation:
- Develop polished presentations and sales materials using PowerPoint and Excel
- Assist in drafting service overviews, scopes of work, and budget summaries
- Prepare supplemental materials for proposals such as industry research, case studies, or support visuals
- Market Analysis & Research:
- Conduct research on target markets, competitor offerings, and client trends
- Analyze RFPs, market dynamics, and upcoming development projects to identify opportunities
- Sales & Event Support:
- Track and coordinate sporting event schedules, ticket distributions, and follow-ups with VIP clients and prospects
- Support event-based client engagement efforts to build brand recognition and loyalty
- Sales Process & Follow-Up:
- Assist in follow-up communications for active proposals
- Support contract negotiations, redlines, and deal closures
- Maintain internal sales tracking tools and databases to monitor pipeline progress
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field)
- 1–3 years of experience in business development, sales, or client services
- Industry experience in parking management, security services, or janitorial/porter services is a plus
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (required)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Self-starter with a high level of initiative and a commitment to career growth
- Comfortable working independently and collaborating across teams
