Salary Range:
Transportation Engineer Specialist I (B18): $45,521 - $71,055
Transportation Engineer Specialist II (B19): $48,244 - $76,028
Transportation Engineer Specialist III (B20): $51,158 - $81,351

Performs advanced and specialized drafting, calculations and design work; performs field work; uses automated systems; learns specialized techniques. Design activity is overseen by a licensed professional engineer or registered architect who has final approval authority for projects.
Transportation Engineer Specialist I Performs advanced and specialized drafting, calculations and design work; performs field work; uses automated systems; learns specialized techniques. Design activity is overseen by a licensed professional engineer or registered architect who has final approval authority for projects. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.
Transportation Engineer Specialist II establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.
Transportation Engineer Specialist III may serve as lead worker.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies.
Experience:
Transportation Engineer Specialist I: 6 years drafting, design, plan preparation.
Transportation Engineer Specialist II: 7 years drafting, design, plan preparation.
Transportation Engineer Specialist III: 8 years drafting, design, plan preparation.
Substitution:
Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
Other Conditions:
This job has been identified as physically demanding and will require a pre-employment physical.
