What the Role Is

The Senior Manager, Production Finance provides financial leadership and partnership to plant management at the assigned facility(ies). This role partners across Heaven Hill location(s) to enhance current and future financial performance while meeting the demand requirements. The Senior Manager will lead the delivery of timely and accurate insights to the business and other stakeholders, which is necessary to enhance the data-informed decision-making process of the company and its employees.

How You Will Spend Your Time?

  • Business partner for operations, engineering and other relevant functional leaders, providing important information and analysis to drive decision making
    • Work closely with operations leadership to ensure that all financial transactions and reporting are complete and accurate in a timely manner
    • Determine financial impact of various strategic initiatives and alternatives
    • Provide modeling and financial leadership of capacity-related investments
  • Prepare the annual operating budget and KPIs
  • Produce monthly and ad hoc reports and analysis of performance to plan and drivers of fluctuations
    • Ensure reporting systems accumulate, aggregate, and present data correctly
    • Partner with IT and Accounting to document and validate allocations of expenses within ERP and reporting systems
    • Confirm monthly reconciliation of data sources to drive “one source of the truth”
  • Analyze opportunities for capital expenditures, prepare cost/ROI justification, and monitor/report on status of initiatives
  • Collaborate with inventory control to monitor inventory levels relative to target DOH
  • Review annual physical inventory and/or cycle-count program to ensure accuracy
  • Collaborate with cost accounting team to enhance standard costing process
  • Review, analyze, and record variances related to manufacturing, labor, and overhead
  • Partner across site operations to identify, execute, and track cost-savings initiatives
  • Identify process improvements and lead process for change – challenge the status quo
  • Prepare limited monthly accruals for site-specific accounts, such as variances, utilities, WIP, prepaids, and capital
  • Prepare limited balance sheet reconciliations for site-specific accounts, such as inventory, fixed assets, prepaids, and RNI
  • Implement and monitor financial controls and proper accounting of transactions
  • Provide support, as needed, for labor relations/manufacturing agreements and negotiations
  • Provide support, as needed, for inventory-related reporting on items such as LIFO and insured value
  • Support corporate accounting in all internal and external financial and operational audits

Who You Are…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing finance function(s) in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in manufacturing sector, with emphasis in cost accounting, financial modeling, forecasting and budgeting
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Mature interpersonal skills with the ability to influence people and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Strategic thinker with focus given to drive forward process improvement
  • Ability to lead positive change and drive for continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated capability for financial modeling and analysis of alternatives
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet competing deadlines
  • Experience and understanding of GAAP and IFRS
  • Proficient computer skills with experience using an ERP, reporting solution(s), Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with IFS (ERP system)
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Experience in the distilled spirits industry or other CPG/manufacturing industry

Physical Requirements

While performing job duties, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, use of computer; and reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
