Job Description

Asia Collections Technology comprises several teams who are responsible for the development of real-time systems that collect data from stock exchanges in the Asia Pacific, this data is critical to hundreds of thousands of customers around the globe. The group makes 1000+ software releases each year to support the constant changes demanded by both customers and exchanges alike.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the sub-regional team to do deliveries according to the global delivery roadmap
  • Works independently with minimum technical and management guidance, taking ownership of problems within own area of knowledge. Key responsibility areas are reviewed by technical leadership.
  • Accountable for the quality of own work, delivered within agreed procedures and timeframes and focused on internal and/or external customer needs.
  • Understands the short term and long-term impact of decisions within the broader scope, especially with respect to technical matters.
  • Reviews and may approve decisions of junior engineers as appropriate. May make guided decisions on personnel issues for contractor/vendor resources.
  • Identifies the need for decisions, provides guidelines for solutions, and takes ownership of outcome.
  • Improves the quality of development in the organizations and promotes best development practices,
  • Identifies areas of improvement within immediate area on an on-going basis.
  • Provides technical input/feedback on performance and skills, and may lead performance and talent management for team with management guidance for contractor/vendor resources.
  • Provides technical leadership to a small to medium technical team in partnership with management.
  • Serves as technical mentor, assesses technical skills of team members, and provides/ recommends training/coaching/mentoring.

Qualifications

  • 5 years system design, code and test experience. Have been a major design decision maker in a >100k line source code level system.
  • 5 years independent professional working experience in multiple IT (networking, application engineering, operations, service support, etc) areas.
  • Computing related experience: C/C++, Linux, Window OS, Python
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a willingness to share knowledge and expertise
  • Adaptability to changes in business strategy resulting from evolving client demands
  • Demonstrable capability of ability to effectively present information for discussion (technical, project status, and issues) across various diverse audiences, including higher levels within the business.
  • Good written and oral English skills.
