The Role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Associate Project Manager (APM) within global project teams in Europe. This role supports project managers and teams by coordinating tasks, maintaining documentation, tracking progress, and facilitating communication among stakeholders.

The candidate must have the technical background and experience required to interact directly with strong technical engineers and management.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring excellence in project delivery for utility customers across the energy generation, transmission, and distribution sectors. This position reports to the Senior Director of Professional Services Europe and is based at AspenTech’s office in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Your Impact

  • Project Coordination: Assist in planning, scheduling meetings, and managing calendars.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain project documentation (e.g., plans, reports, minutes).
  • Tracking Progress: Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and budgets.
  • Communication: Act as a liaison between the project team and stakeholders.
  • Reporting: Compile status reports, risk logs, and progress updates.
  • Tool Support: Help manage project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira, Trello).
  • Administrative Tasks: Handle procurement support, invoice tracking, or team travel coordination.

What You'll Need

  • Education: Degree or diploma in business administration, project management, or related fields.
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, communication, attention to detail, multitasking.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, project software (like MS Project, Smartsheet), and general IT tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong commitment to providing superior customer service.
  • Excellent English verbal and writing skills, a second language is advantageous.
  • Regional travel at least 25% of the time.
