Job Description

As a valued colleague on our team, you will collaborate with team in designing, producing, testing, or implementing moderately complex software, technology, or processes, as well as create and maintain IT architecture, large scale data stores, and cloud-based systems.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

The Sr. Software Engineer - Java, AWS role will offer you a chance to make a visible impact to our critical Market Risk Platform, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Independently determine the needs of the customer and create solution frameworks.
  • Design and develop moderately complex software solutions to meet needs.
  • Use a process-driven approach in designing and developing solutions.
  • Implement new software technology and coordinate end-to-end tasks across the team.
  • May maintain or oversee the maintenance of existing software.

Minimum Required Experiences:

  • 2 years experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or science related fields
  • Experience with Java open-source frameworks and libraries
  • AWS technology skills (2+ years)
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Capable of working both independently and with others as a team

Desired Experiences:

  • Expert knowledge in JAVA and SQL (3+ years)
  • Good knowledge in Source Control, Unit Testing, GIT and Maven (or Gradle)
  • Experience in using following Java open-source frameworks or libraries
    • Spring framework (including spring cloud), Hibernate
    • Apache Commons, HTTP Client, HTTP Core, Xerces
    • Log4j, SLF4j, Jackson
    • AWS-SDK
  • Experience with AWS technology
    • AWS EC2, Elastic Load Balancer, AWS ECS, AWS Batch, AWS Lambda, AWS RDS and AWS S3, CloudWatch, AWS Step Functions, SQS, SNS
    • AWS CodeCommit, CodePipeline, AMI for Docker, ECR
    • AWS CLI, AWS IAM
  • Exposure to unit test frameworks
    • JUnit, Mockito
  • Experience with Docker, Angular (or React)
  • Practical knowledge of SRE, Splunk

The hiring range for this role is set forth below. Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to, skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant qualifications.
