Position Description:

• Applicants are permitted to work remotely from an at-home worksite anywhere in the United States.**

Supports the enterprise’s digital presence by building omni channel user experiences and underlying platforms. Provides expert advice to business analysts, developers and others to develop Web or Mobile applications. Modifies existing applications to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new environments or to improve its performance. Architects and develops multi-tier internet facing software and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to provide high degree of security and accuracy in a heterogeneous environment, and with scalability and high availability. Designs and develops front-end solutions using JavaScript, Typescript, CSS, and HTML. Implements continuous JS environments using Angular framework, NodeJS, NPM, JEST, Maven, Jenkins and GIT.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Participates in architecture design teams.
• Defines and implements application-level architecture.
• Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
• Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
• Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
• Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
• Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
• Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
• Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
• Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
• Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
• Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
• Advises senior management on technical strategy.
• Mentors junior team members.
• Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
• Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
• Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives.
• Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) implementing and supporting web applications and mid-tier services using java and RESTful WebServices.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) implementing and supporting web applications and mid-tier services using java and RESTful WebServices.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

• Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing responsive customer facing web applications within the financial services industry using Angular NPM, client-side technologies (HTML5 and CSS), and server-side technologies (NodeJS and NPM); and testing web applications using unit test frameworks (JavaScript, Jasmine, JSLint, and SonarQube) and development tools (GIT, Maven, Jenkins and Docker).
• DE developing multi-tier backend APIs using Java/J2EE Frameworks, Spring Boot, RESTful Web Services, JaxB and Maven; testing back-end APIs using JUnit and Selenium; deploying applications to Tomcat Server for local environment testing; and performing API testing.
• DE performing Continuous Integration (using Jenkins), Continuous Deployment (using OpenShift), and code scanning (using SonarQube or JSLint) for web applications in Docker container environment according to DevOps principles; and deploying highly secured web and mobile applications to cloud platforms (AWS and Azure).
• DE implementing Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including gathering requirements, participating in design meetings, in addition to performing technical design, testing, and installation; and providing support for ongoing maintenance of UI applications in an Agile Project Model using Jira.
