Architects, develops, and implements Security Pricing Engine platform. Delivers next generation pricing platforms in the cloud. Supports numerous pricing modernization initiatives, including providing finalization capability, provides secure interest file processes, and enables Blue-Green deployments. Includes Crypto Securities, Total Return Swaps (“ETRS”), and select Real Estate securities, and improves the infrastructure to enable the delivery of real time system data. Translates the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participates in architecture design teams.
- Defines and implements application-level architecture.
- Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
- Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
- Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
- Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
- Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
- Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
- Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
- Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
- Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
- Advises senior management on technical strategy.
- Mentors junior team members.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Full Stack Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing financial applications and modeling systems.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Full Stack Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing financial applications and modeling systems.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) architecting, designing, developing and testing scalable Cloud-based full stack software applications using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Hexagonal Architecture, Java/J2EE, Spring Boot framework, Design Patterns, Kafka, ActiveMQ, Swagger, and Oracle; building responsive and mobile friendly user interfaces (UI) using Angular, Typescript, CSS, and HTML, and testing the user interface using Cypress framework; designing, building, deploying, and running secure Java microservice applications on Cloud services (Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure) by implementing Single Sign On (SSO) using Open ID Connect (OIDC) and OAuth2.
- DE performing unit, architecture, integration, and automation testing for Java/J2EE cloud applications according to Test Driven and Behavioral Driven Development (TDD/BDD) methodologies using ArchUnit, Junit5, Mockito, Wire mock, Cucumber and Cypress test automation frameworks; and completing performance testing, longevity testing, and stress testing, using Load Runner and JMeter.
- DE performing infrastructure creation using Cloud service providers (AWS and Azure); integrating unit and test automation scripts with Jenkins CI/CD pipelines; integrating GitHub with CI/CD pipeline to capture Sonar code metrics; deriving deployment strategy, deployment management patterns, environment maintenance, building resilient and scalable applications, and implementing monitoring of applications using Datadog.
- DE analyzing data and writing robust SQL queries for DB2 and Oracle; optimizing SQL queries execution time by considering query execution plan, normalizing database tables and monitoring sub-query performance; deploying SQL changesets using Datical; and creating alerts and monitoring database health.
