Job Description:

Senior Technical Project Manager, Audio

QNX® is a trusted supplier of safe and secure operating systems, hypervisors, frameworks, and development tools, and provides expert support and services for building the world’s most critical embedded systems. We also provide a software-defined audio solution, called QNX Sound, which is modernizing the way in which automotive audio systems are architected and developed. Components within QNX Sound include speech enhancement for hands-free calling, active sound design, playback optimization, and processing libraries from other well-known automotive companies that we partner with.

The Acoustics team is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager with experience in software development for a full-time role. The successful candidate will coordinate complex projects involving speech and audio technologies, both customer-facing and internal product development. You will need to effectively communicate with and support our global customers, and interact with cross-functional teams, track requirements, timelines and follow software development processes. You will have the opportunity to thrive in a dynamic global environment, working alongside outstanding colleagues.

You will:

  • Provide project management support to global customers relating to software deliverables, engineering resources, schedules, contracts, and process artifacts.
  • Supervise weekly or bi-weekly customer meetings and track progress.
  • Review project details with stakeholders such as sales, engineering, finance, product management, and quality management.
  • Track software requirements and defects, test reports, documentation, process artifacts and budget during product releases.
  • Identify and mitigate risk factors to drive successful completion of customer projects and suggest process improvements.
  • Acquire general familiarity with QNX Sound, recognizing opportunities for application of our technology into customer programs, and communicating benefits at a high-level.

You will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in technical program/project management, ideally in the embedded, audio, or automotive industry.
  • Experience with software development, either as project manager or developer.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Problem solving, integrity, and professionalism during customer interactions.

It would be great if you have:

  • A strong interest in or experience working with audio and/or speech processing.
  • Experience managing commercial programs within the automotive industry.
  • Experience with C, C++ programming, and/or UNIX-based operating systems such as QNX or Linux.
  • Experiencing measuring compliance of software development processes with quality-related standards such as ISO 9001 or ISO 26262.
  • Experience with defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira), source control (e.g., Git) and collaborative workspaces (e.g., Confluence).
