- Wednesdays and Thursdays, 12:30pm-6:30pm. Fridays, 12:30pm-5:30pm.
- First and third Saturday and Sunday of the month, 1:00pm-5:00pm.
- Position may require occasional changes in schedule.
Job Summary
You must be a current UK student to apply to this position. This position is located off-campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with UK.
- Assists in the day-to-day responsibilities of the experiential learning spaces.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment in our experiential learning spaces.
- Provide exceptional customer service by instructing and assisting customers with software and equipment.
- Organize and oversee the use of supplies, tools and materials used in experiential learning spaces.
- Implement and facilitate hands-on programming for makers of all ages.
- Collaborate with supervisor to enhance programs.
- Maintain interdepartmental relationships and seek new ways for these spaces to serve as a resource to other library departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least one year related experience required
- Excellent digital literacy skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to function in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working effectively with a culturally diverse workforce and community.
- Must successfully pass a background investigation.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, with a safe driving record and the ability to have/arrange own transportation.
- Ability to sit and operate a computer for extended periods.
- Sufficient mobility and dexterity to lift and carry books and other library materials.
- Ability to perform essential functions which require bending, standing, stooping, and lifting moderately heavy equipment, and standing for long periods.
- Work is often performed in and around equipment requiring adherence to industry safety procedures and guidelines.
