General Description
- Assist with the repair, maintenance, and modification of injection mold tools and components
- Operate manual machining equipment (e.g., mill, lathe, grinder) under supervision
- Learn and apply proper tool room safety protocols and machining best practices
- Support experienced technicians with daily tasks and gain exposure to complex tool troubleshooting
- Document work completed and maintain accurate tooling records
- Participate in cross-functional meetings with engineering, maintenance, and production teams
- Progressively take on more advanced responsibilities as training is completed
Prerequisites
- High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational school certification in machining or toolmaking preferred
- Basic understanding of machining principles, tooling terminology, and shop equipment
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced mentors
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Dependable, team-oriented, and safety-conscious
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
Education Guidelines
- Exposure to injection molding tooling
- Experience with blueprints, schematics, or CAD drawings
- Familiarity with measurement instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
