Your Role

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for the full commercial customer journey, covering relationship management and business development for a dedicated portfolio of accounts in the country. Additionally, the role involves actively seeking new customers to expand the account base and drive business growth. Serving as the primary Kuehne+Nagel representative, the KAM engages customers across all services and business units, qualifying account intelligence and translating it into actionable business targets. These efforts are documented in a dynamic and agreed account plan/customer strategy process. Maintaining and developing strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, the KAM conducts key account management activities in accordance with national Key Account guidelines. This position requires a strong network across Kuehne+Nagel’s business units and supportive functions, with expertise in translating customer requirements into practical, achievable plans. The KAM collaborates closely with internal teams to ensure business opportunities are effectively pursued, contributing to sustainable growth and success.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manages accounts according to agreed targets and company guidelines, identifying customer needs and promoting Kuehne+Nagel’s offer portfolio.
  • Actively seeks new customers to expand the portfolio and drive business growth.
  • Understands customer organizations, decision-making processes, business models, and competitive environments.
  • Negotiates rates and service contracts in alignment with business units, ensuring all commercial requirements are documented and maintained.
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of Kuehne+Nagel’s service offerings and effectively communicates value to customers.
  • Adheres to Kuehne+Nagel’s sales management processes and systems, ensuring timely and accurate updates in CRM/CoreLog.
  • Monitors monthly performance against targets, taking immediate action in case of deviations, including reporting on pipeline, wins, losses, and financial indicators.
  • Ensures proper account planning and structured customer review sessions, focusing on continuous improvement, strategy alignment, and operational excellence.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in sales, key account management, and business development within the logistics sector, with a strong sales track record.
  • Deep understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships across various organizational levels.
  • Competitive mindset with excellent negotiation skills and a drive to achieve business goals.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and familiarity with sales management processes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
