The Maryland National Capital Park & Planning Commission is one of the largest organizations servicing both Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. In both counties we manage the park systems, but in Prince George’s county we also develop the public’s recreation programs.
Under the Department of Parks & Recreation, the Facility Services Division (FSD) is the largest division in Parks & Recreation. We provide high quality maintenance and maintenance support services for all of the parks and recreation facilities within Prince George’s County. We have six major work areas: Fleet Management, Buildings & Structures (Trade Shops), Horticulture & Forestry, Major Maintenance & Inspection, Critical Projects (Aquatics, Heavy Equipment/Roads and Grounds, Sustainability and ADA) and the Administrative section.

This administrative support position resides within the Fleet Management section. You would report directly to the Fleet Manager and be responsible for performing office management and administrative work in a busy fleet office. Answers phones and assists staff and vendors with fleet issues. Composes variety of forms and correspondence using Word and Outlook, using own judgement and initiative to carry out assignments. Uses Excel or similar spreadsheet software to enter and tracking Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) documents and using Fleet Management Asset software similar to FASTER. Experience also preferred with fuel management software, similar to Fuelmaster. May handle fleet purchasing systems, financial documents.
This position offers a range of tasks and requires that you be friendly, detail oriented, team member who is willing to provide whatever administrative support is required of them. You must also be flexible with excellent computer skills Word, Outlook and Excel.
SALARY $42,260 - $74,845
(Work Hours are 6:30 am – 3:15 pm)
1. High school diploma or a Certificate of General Educational Development (GED).
2. Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support and clerical work or customer service that typically involves performance of a range of general office support functions.
3. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total 2 years.
