Job Description

Join a dynamic machine shop that specializes in fabricating parts for the oil and gas sector, including bearings and seals for rotating equipment. As a QC Inspector / Assembler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and precision of parts, primarily focusing on bearings and seals. Your responsibilities will also include smaller assembly tasks and floating around the shop for various duties.

Must Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Control.
  • Proficiency in using measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Experience in light assembly work.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Strong skills in quality assurance and inspection.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspection of parts according to blueprints and specified tolerances.
  • Inspect bearings and seals, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  • Assemble parts after machining, handling small to medium-sized components.
  • Serve as a floater for various tasks around the shop.
  • Potentially conduct NDT inspections, primarily dye penetrant testing.

Work Environment

Work in a medium-sized, clean, and organized shop with air conditioning maintained at 72°F to prevent material warping. The shop has 27 employees on the day shift and 23 on the afternoon shift, including CNC and manual machinists, welders, assemblers, and general laborers. The 2nd shift operates Monday to Thursday from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Fridays from noon to 8:30 pm, and Saturdays are currently voluntary half-days.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Deer Park, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $31.00/hr.
