PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The job exists to provide quality assurance for all EEE products and services. It is designed to ensure adequate quality of all products and services including purchased product through review of customer specifications during and after quote stage, the development and maintenance of component plans, quality plans, procedures and specifications, performance of internal and supplier audits and the investigation and correction of causes for nonconformances.
BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE
A four-year degree is required, preferably in engineering or industrial technology, and at least two years experience in manufacturing/services quality assurance or other equivalent work experience.
Position requires a broad knowledge of manufacturing processes, inspection methods and procedures, inspection equipment, nondestructive testing techniques and quality engineering including analytical skills. A general knowledge of the various industry standards such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Petroleum Institute (API) standards, American Society for Non-destructive Testing ASNT) standards and ISO 9000 series is required. Proficient technical and business writing skills are required. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to represent Elliott Company in discussions with customers is essential.
Must be proficient with personal computers including applications for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, business operating systems
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES
Review customer specifications as requested by Applications Engineering and provide EEE comments and exceptions to quality, inspection, and testing related items.
Develop and maintain quality plans and component plans for standard parts and components.
Write and submit contract deviation requests on quality requirements for Project Manager's submittal to customers.
Plans, writes and issues procedures to meet the requirements of ISO 9001, ASME Section VIII Division 1, and the National Board of Inspection Code (BMS Work Instructions,
Supplier Quality Specifications, quality Assurance Specifications & Procedures, Department Work Instructions and the ASME Quality Manual.
Conducts and documents periodic reviews of Quality Department procedures for correctness and adequacy and makes revisions as required.
Review and sign for quality approval on related procedures prepared by other departments.
Assist Applications and Project Engineering in development of Special Engineering Instructions for EEE products and Services.
Participate on Product Action and Problem Prevention Teams for the development of Special Engineering Instructions for standard products and Services.
Participate on teams for the investigation and resolution of ETSN quality issues.
Issue and review Corrective Action Request to suppliers.
Lead audits of supplier quality systems as assigned.
Lead quality system and process audits in ETSN
Conduct supplier source inspections as assigned.
Review nonconformance reports for purchased product and assign required corrective actions.
Review and approve purchase order Quality requirements.
Arrange for customers to witness inspections and tests as necessary.
Escort customers to witness inspections and tests as necessary.
Provide escort for third party vendors as required.
Recommends drawing and process changes to improve quality and reduce cost.
Works to prevent recurring problems by recommending and initiating nonconformance reports.
Prepares technical reports regarding procedures and problems.
Prepares customer required quality related documents, such as inspection records and manufacturing data books and submits to Project Engineering or customer in accordance with project
requirements.
Conducts training for ETSN personnel on quality topics.
Obtains and maintains Quality certification as a Certified Quality Auditor (or equivalent).
Attends technical and professional training classes and seminars to maintain job proficiency.
Maintain a centralized QMS database for ETSN Repair and FS Operations which shall consist of all standard templates and forms
Involve in Quality incident management and Maintain COQ data
Perform quality audit on Repair & FS Operations documentation to ensure compliance
Work with sales and Marketing to manage customer satisfaction survey and provide useful insights to operations
