The Director of Financial Aid-Specialty Teams reports to the University Director of Financial Aid and is responsible for ensuring the University is compliant with all federal and state laws, rules, and regulations, pertaining to federal student financial aid (Title IV). The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to ensuring the eligibility of all federal aid recipients, including overseeing the Military, Grad, Nursing, and Partner Engagement teams within the Financial Aid department. The Director will serve as a part of the Financial Aid Leadership Team to ensure financial aid is administered in accordance with university policies and procedures. This position works most closely with the Admissions, Compliance, Student Accounts, and Academic teams, as well as other University associates. The Director of Financial Aid is responsible for ensuring an exceptional student and associate experience.
Essential Accountabilities:
- Ensure all U.S. Department of Education regulations are maintained and administered within the department.
- Ensure their assigned team within the Financial Aid department exceeds the customer service standards established by our Post Makes it Personal ethos for our students, financial aid department associates, and other departments within the University.
- Maintain the established benchmarks for past due amounts for Title IV.
- Maintain the prescribed packaging rates of all areas of Financial Aid.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee Financial Aid specialty teams within Post University, including the daily supervision of direct reports. This includes daily conversations with each direct report on coaching opportunities.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and monitor team accountability for university-defined performance metrics in relation to Financial Aid completion to ensure student support and satisfaction.
- Ensure the daily objectives of their team that support students are maintained to include the required “ready” time, packaging rates, low error rates with packaging, and minimal past due Title IV.
- Manage and motivate direct report associates to develop a sense of teamwork that promotes an exceptional student and associate experience.
- Ensure cooperative and timely support and communication with students, faculty, and administrative staff.
- Implement, manage, and maintain policies and procedures for financial aid awarding processes to ensure efficient operations while maintaining federal, state, and university compliance at all times.
- Work under the direction of the University Director of Financial Aid to ensure all Federal and State enrollment and financial reporting requirements are met.
- Proficient in utilizing Anthology Student, Excel, Word, and other electronic means for the transfer of information.
- Serve as a liaison with Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs, Student Services, Student Accounts, Registrar and students and families in the planning and assistance of preparing new students to enter the University and in retention efforts to maintain current students’ enrollment at the University, helping our students achieve their educational goals.
- Responsible for keeping informed of changing regulations regarding federal and state guidelines.
- Review and update financial aid documentation and standardized internal and external communication, arrange and monitor training, and distribute updates to support staff.
- Oversee team staffing, including recruitment and interview support.
- Implement a team structure that streamlines operations, reflects university priorities, and cultivates a sense of ownership among each financial aid associate.
- Prepare management reports of a statistical and financial nature for leadership.
- Respond to external and internal customer service issues and concerns.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required/master's degree preferred
- 5 years of leadership experience and 5 years of FA experience
- Preferred experience overseeing Nursing/Military students. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in military financial aid.
