Summary

Storeroom Attendant is responsible for oversight of the purchasing function and ensuring that all related activities are completed in adherence with Hyatt Policies and Procedures. This position will require a dynamic leader who is highly organized, willing to take initiative and is passionate about optimizing procurement processes.

Qualifications

Core Functions

1. Adhere to Hyatt Hotels Corporation guidelines and core values to ensure the health, safety and comfort of our colleagues and guests.

2. Maintain controls over F&B purchasing/receiving functions and ensure proper segregation of duties as outlined in Hyatt Policies and Procedures.

3. Monitor all incoming food and beverage orders ensuring timely and accurate receiving into Birchstreet.

4. Inspect all products upon delivery for quality, temperature, and condition and ensures proper storage of all products received.

5. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of storage, delivery and other work areas.

6. Assist with month-end inventory counts and inventory self-audits as directed.

7. Communicate effectively with other colleagues and maintain a positive working environment.

8. Inspect all incoming deliveries for accuracy, quality, and compliance with purchase orders.

9. Record received goods in inventory systems and notify departments of arrivals.

10. Report any discrepancies or damages immediately to vendors and management.

11. Ensure proper storage of perishable and non-perishable items according to safety standards.

12. Maintain cleanliness and organization in receiving and storage areas.

13. Input and maintain accurate records of all purchases and receipts.

14. File and organize purchasing and receiving documents for audits and internal reviews.

15. Coordinate with accounting to match invoices with purchase orders and receiving reports.

16. Support inventory audits and cycle counts.

17. Assist with administrative duties such as data entry, reporting, and responding to supplier inquiries.

18. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel
  • Prior experience using Birchstreet Procurement System
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet required deadlines
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Willing to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor and uphold Forbes standards at all times
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, in English
  • Flexible availability and willing to work occasional weekends/holidays, as required

Mental and Physical Demands

  • Frequent: Sitting, standing, walking throughout property, working on a computer, typing, filing, climbing stairs, and interacting with employees (speaking, listening, writing).
  • Frequent: Lifting, pushing, and pulling packages, and on occasion property equipment. Frequent stooping and bending.
