Job Description:

The successful candidate for this role is responsible for the accurate disbursement of escrow funds by ensuring all closing instructions have been followed and all exceptions to title have been cleared.

This position will begin in our Akron, OH office, and transition to a hybrid schedule after a probationary period.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review title commitment to ensure all exceptions to title have been cleared.
  • Contact customers, notaries, attorneys and borrowers regarding documentation and funds needed for disbursement.
  • Review HUD’s, closing instructions, demands and taxes for accuracy prior to disbursing funds.
  • Reconcile, balance and disburse all files in the time frame set forth by the lender.
  • Ensure HUD balances and cut all checks for disbursement.
  • Forward all funds to appropriate payees in the method directed by customer.
  • Prepare wire out sheets as needed and initiate voids, stop payments and check requests.
  • Prepare file for invoicing.
  • Monitor post-closing log and obtain outstanding items in a timely manner.
  • Review signed packages for completeness and accuracy; review, organize and purge closed files.
  • Responds to customer inquiries and/or complaints.
  • Back up Escrow Accounting Assistant as needed.
  • Complies with Company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and complete mandatory company compliance training by prescribed deadlines.
  • At a minimum, the ability to work your scheduled office hours, Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to work overtime as requested by management.
  • Dependable, reliable and punctual attendance is required, which may include attendance at after-hour company events.
  • Ability to accept supervision as well as constructive feedback.
  • Ability to collaborate and interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees and customers by email, phone, video conferences and in person.
  • Demonstrates courtesy, professionalism and is proactive and responsive to supervisor/manager, co-workers and customer needs and expectations.
  • Other duties that may be assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment while successfully performing under extreme time constraints and meets prescribed deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to act independently with sound judgment and take initiative.
  • Written and verbal communications are clear, grammatically correct and business appropriate.
  • Actively listens. Is mindful of how body language, gestures and nonverbal communications are perceived.

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • The ability to work with confidential information.
  • The ability to perform under pressure and be flexible with disruptions throughout the workday is required.
  • Repetitive and continual keyboard activity and interaction with display monitors is required.

Sedentary work: The majority of activity in this position involves sedentary work including sitting, standing, walking and the occasional need to lift or move objects.
