Your day in the life of a National Business Development Manager at Optus

Ready to Lead Growth at a National Scale?

We’re on the hunt for a bold and strategic National Business Development Manager to champion growth in the Mid-Market segment and shape the future of B2B at Optus.

In this pivotal role, you’ll partner with 28 Optus Business Centres across the country, empowering over 60 frontline sales professionals to win big. You’ll be at the frontline of co-selling, coaching, and driving new business—while deepening relationships with customers in the 20–500 employee segment.

You’ll bring energy and expertise to:

  • Design and execute go-to-market strategies that accelerate pipeline and market share.
  • Coach sales teams to confidently engage C-suite and technical decision-makers.
  • Generate high-value opportunities through proactive lead gen and targeted programs.
  • Support key deals, acting as a trusted partner for our OBC leaders.

Reporting directly to the Director of OBC Transformation, you’ll play a critical role in one of the most exciting growth engines within our business. If you’re commercially sharp, customer-obsessed, and thrive on helping others succeed—this is your stage.

Your skills to pay the bills

  • Proven experience in business sales and in-person relationship selling in a competitive environment
  • Strong ability to identify and build new customer opportunities
  • Outstanding communication, influencing, and negotiating skills
  • Emphasizing critical thinking around customer needs and sales performance
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead initiatives that drive operational excellence
  • High motivation, energy, and a can-do attitude to achieve and exceed targets.
