Amazon is seeking an innovative and high-judgement Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join the Amazon Privacy Service team. We own programs, products and applications that deliver technical innovation for proving compliance with data privacy obligations across Amazon services worldwide. The Principal TPM – Analytical Compliance will own three key pillars: 1) act as the SME for how Amazon systems and personnel analyze personal data to deliver customer experience, 2) lead end-to-end technical design that ensure analytical applications and operations deliver compliance end outcomes, and 3) drive implementation of technical tasks while monitoring dependencies and reporting key risks, issues and blockers. The Principal TPM will contribute to the strategic direction for Amazon’s privacy practices while building the compliance approach for individual regulations such as the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Digital Markets Act and more. The TPM will frame and participate in high judgment debates and decision making across senior business, technology, legal, and public policy leaders.
Key job responsibilities
A great candidate will have a unique combination of experience with analytical technology, high judgement in system architecture decisions and ability to set detailed technical design from ambiguous compliance requirements. You will drive foundational, cross-service decisions, set technical requirements, oversee technical design, and have end to end accountability for delivering technical changes across dozens of different systems. The role reports to the Director for Regulation Tech and Assurance under Amazon Privacy Services. You will have high engagement with WW senior leadership via monthly reviews, annual organisational planning, and s-team goal updates. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a strong background in technical program management/software engineering and a proven track record for delivering technical innovation in ambiguous regulatory environments.
