Overview of the role:

Join our Disruptive Innovation Team at Flutter as a Graduate Generative AI Engineer working on an exciting conversational AI project in partnership with one of our key product teams. This immersive role is part of our "Innovation-as-a-Service" model, where you'll contribute to developing advanced AI solutions that enhance our customer experience, with this 12-month contract spent in the Generative AI R&D Team, learning from those on the forefront of applied AI implementation.

You'll be part of a multi-team squad developing sophisticated conversational AI systems with robust information retrieval capabilities and intelligent memory management.

As part of this project, you'll apply knowledge of gaming concepts, particularly Poker and casino games, to create intuitive and engaging experiences that can operate effectively in real-time environments.

This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. These discussions are between you and your manager to find the best pattern for you both, while recognising that quality time together is essential for keeping us mission-aligned.

In our office you'll work with a view – overlooking the River Thames, Hammersmith Bridge and the iconic Harrods Furniture Depository. What you'll do:

AI Systems Development

• Design and develop conversational AI capabilities for both voice and text interactions
• Orchestrate pioneering Generative AI models to ensure fluid, natural conversations
• Collaborate with UX designers to enhance user interfaces through AI integration
• Build resilient systems with appropriate error handling and recovery mechanisms
• Participate in testing and quality assurance to ensure reliable performance

System Integration & Data Management

• Implement systems to retrieve and process information from various sources
• Work with intelligent context management techniques to maintain Generative AI coherence
• Apply appropriate data management practices that align with industry regulations
• Contribute to the design of efficient data architectures for AI applications
• Focus on delivering accurate and relevant information to users

User Experience Development

• Help create engaging AI-powered features that improve the user journey
• Apply domain knowledge to ensure contextually appropriate interactions
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to build knowledge across various gaming areas
• Keep up with emerging industry trends and best practices
• Focus on creating intuitive and accessible user experiences

Research & Innovation

• Stay current with the latest advancements in Generative AI and LLMs
• Experiment with emerging techniques to improve system performance
• Contribute to the team's knowledge base and share insights across the organization
• Participate in rapid prototyping and concept validation
• Help evaluate new AI models and tools as they become available

What you'll bring:

Essential Skills & Knowledge:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related technical field
• Programming proficiency with experience in Python and common development tools
• Understanding of AI concepts and how they apply to real-world applications
• Familiarity with Generative AI APIs, modern software development practices, and version control
• Solid problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
• Understanding of the cloud platforms and development (Google Cloud preferred)

Desirable Skills & Knowledge:

• Experience with products or systems that use large language models or other Generative AI technologies
• Understanding of data structures and information retrieval techniques
• Familiarity with context management in conversational systems
• Interest in gaming and entertainment, particularly Poker and casino games
• Knowledge of API integration and system interoperability
• Awareness of data privacy principles and compliance requirements
• Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS and Azure)
