Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Opportunity

Driven by curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning, our Technology/Cyber Control Testing professionals are at the forefront of understanding the financial services industry and applying industry regulations to our business units at Ally. In this role, you'll work in a collaborative and agile environment, leveraging your critical thinking skills to execute control testing activities and communicate the results of testing. The Manager is responsible for project management, resource management, and relationship management within the Cyber and Technology functions at Ally Financial. This candidate will help assess risk and have a critical role in the development of efficient and effective control testing projects; conclude and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, governance and risk management; and effectively communicate results to management.

The Work Itself

  • Partner with Ally Technology and Cyber Leaders working cross-functionally while conducting individual control tests.
  • Manage the overall execution and completion of control testing projects on a timely basis with the highest quality, in compliance with Ally Policies and professional standards.
  • Use data literacy and analytics to provide consultation to management regarding emerging control practices.
  • Assess IT audit staff against established performance and leadership criteria; provide timely, honest and meaningful project evaluations.
  • Support continuous process improvement by identifying needs and opportunities and recommending appropriate process changes; champion common audit process approach; recommend process changes to maintain the highest quality standards.
  • Proactively identify emerging risks and remain informed of emerging risk trends and industry-leading mitigation practices
  • Assist in managing assigned validations of findings and issue management activities with quality and in accordance with Ally standards.
  • Develop a high-performing organization by continuing to build an inclusive culture that prides itself on engineering excellence and realization of business value/outcomes.
  • Mentor and develop control testing staff and act as a knowledge resource.
  • Develop and maintain strong management relationships within assigned audit area(s).

The Skills You Bring

  • 5+ years of work experience in audit, assurance, or equivalent line of service strongly preferred with focus on technology/cyber.
  • Relevant certification (CIA, CISA, CISSP, CPA, etc.) is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study (i.e., Cyber, Computer Science, Accounting, Auditing, Computer Information Systems, etc.) or comparable combination of education and experience (including military service).
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills (detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed, organized, etc.) with proven track record of increasing responsibilities within the organization and ability to excel in highly interactive team environment.
  • Proven ability of using data analytics to accomplish the audit plan.
  • Demonstrated effective project management skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated skill in successfully managing audit teams with an emphasis on staff development.
  • A desire to creatively identify problems that potentially were not known to exist and provide solutions and/or recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of FFIEC, NIST, and Common Control Frameworks.

Base Pay Range: $110000 - $180000 USD

An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.

Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
